An increasing ageing population and improvements in detection and diagnosis has resulted in a growing number of people in New Zealand with cancer.
Enhanced cancer treatments also mean that a larger proportion of people achieve sustained remission and live with cancer as a long-term condition. As the
demand for oncology services increases, primary care has an increasingly important role in the management of people with cancer and optimising
continuity of care. The following resources are provided to increase awareness, knowledge and confidence in early detection, referral,
follow-up and surveillance of people with cancer.
